Sephora is hiring an Assistant Store Manager in Sydney, Australia for a permanent full-time role at the new Hurstville store with AUD $72,118.80 base salary plus commission and bonus.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in leading and motivating the team to deliver exceptional client-centric service and build brand loyalty
- Utilize data analytics to inform operational decisions and work with Store Manager and District Manager to develop business growth and sales conversion strategies
- Drive a selling culture within the team to meet KPIs while promoting Sephora's values and corporate objectives
- Monitor and manage store profit and loss, shrinkage percentages, and sales forecasting to maximize profitability
- Consistently raise team performance and capability through coaching, mentoring, and internal talent development
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives and operational incentives including brand events, training, and visual merchandising updates
- Maintain store standards for cleanliness, brand representation, and adherence to Sephora's culture and values
- Monitor key performance indicators and support the development of emerging talent within the store
- Maintain strong emotional intelligence and communication to influence and lead team members at all levels
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years' experience in retail or store line management
- Prior retail management experience at a large-format retailer or multi-site operation
- Strong organizational, analytical, and business management capabilities
- Hands-on leadership approach with demonstrated ability to coach and motivate team members on the sales floor
- Proven track record of attracting, identifying, and inspiring talented employees
- Strong emotional intelligence, communication skills, and ability to influence across all levels
- Flexibility to work a 5-day rotating schedule including evenings, late nights, and weekends during peak trading days (Thursday–Sunday)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment
- Passion for client service and experiential retail

Minimum 3+ years' experience in retail or store line management, with prior experience at a large-format retailer or multi-site retail operation preferred. Demonstrated hands-on leadership with a track record of motivating teams and driving sales performance.
