Sephora seeks an Assistant Store Manager in Overland Park, KS to lead store operations, coach teams and drive sales. Full-time, salaried position.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support daily store operations in partnership with the Store Manager to deliver exceptional client experiences while achieving sales and profitability targets.
  • Lead, coach and develop store associates through real-time feedback, structured performance appraisals and ongoing mentorship to elevate individual and team performance.
  • Recruit, onboard and retain diverse talent that reflects Sephora’s values and service standards.
  • Drive client engagement and loyalty through personalized service, effective use of loyalty programs and proactive resolution of client concerns.
  • Ensure operational and visual merchandising standards are maintained — including store presentation, inventory integrity and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Optimize staffing and inventory resources to respond to sales trends and business priorities in a high-volume retail environment.
  • Represent the store in the community and support initiatives that build brand presence and customer acquisition.
  • Perform physical tasks required by the role, including merchandising and stock movement, and maintain the ability to apply products to clients.

Qualifications

  • Proven success in an assistant store management role within fast-paced, high-volume retail operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership and business acumen with experience recruiting, developing and motivating retail teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a history of delivering constructive feedback and fostering a collaborative culture.
  • Passion for coaching and employee development, with the ability to translate coaching into measurable performance improvements.
  • Client-centric orientation with strong commercial focus and the ability to balance service excellence with operational priorities.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays and ability to perform physical requirements of the role (lift up to 50 lbs; work in a fragrance-rich environment).

Experience

Demonstrated track record as an assistant or deputy store manager in a busy, high-volume retail environment, consistently delivering sales results and developing team capability.

Education

High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in business, retail management, hospitality or a related field preferred but not required.

Compensation

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 60,100 to USD 68,000 per annum.
