Sephora is hiring a full-time, permanent Assistant Store Manager for its Town Center Plaza location in Leawood, Kansas. The role supports store operations, team leadership and development, client experience, sales, and profitability; it is on-site and requires evening, weekend, and holiday availability. Annual base salary is $63,100–$77,350, depending on qualifications, experience, skills, education, credentials, and geographic location; bonus eligibility may also apply.
Role & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to oversee daily operations, deliver exceptional client experiences, and drive sales and profitability.
- Lead, coach, inspire, and empower the team to achieve performance goals while fostering growth, development, and accountability.
- Attract, hire, and onboard talent, building a diverse and inclusive team that reflects Sephora’s values and delivers signature service.
- Promote continuous learning through real-time coaching, actionable feedback, and ongoing support.
- Conduct performance appraisals and provide feedback and mentorship to support team members’ career development and engagement.
- Deliver outstanding client service, resolve concerns, and drive engagement through loyalty programs and personalized experiences.
- Maintain a visually inspiring, immaculate store and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and brand guidelines.
- Optimize inventory and staffing resources, adapting to changing priorities and opportunities to drive results.
- Lead the store as a supportive community, building team confidence and positively impacting clients.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated success as a retail assistant manager in fast-paced, high-volume environments, driving results and elevating team performance through hands-on leadership.
- Strong leadership and business acumen, including the ability to recruit, inspire, and develop talent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a record of building trust, clarity, and enthusiasm across teams and clients; able to provide constructive feedback and facilitate open dialogue.
- Commitment to developing teams through tailored mentorship, real-time coaching, and actionable feedback.
- Experience creating memorable, personalized client experiences that build loyalty while balancing operational priorities and driving business growth.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, bend and stretch to stock shelves, and stand and walk the sales floor for the entire shift.
- Ability to work in a fragrance-filled environment and handle and apply products to clients, with or without accommodation.
