Sephora is hiring a full-time Assistant Planner for a permanent, hybrid role in Toronto. The position supports inventory planning, forecasting, replenishment, purchase orders, and allocation across Canadian distribution centres and stores, using Blue Yonder (JDA) and analytical insights to support business performance.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Review and action in-stocks to maintain healthy inventory positions for core and newness at SKU and store level.
  • Consult with the Planning Manager on appropriate weeks-of-supply levels, coordinate with brands on back-in-stock ETAs, and communicate updates to the leader.
  • Track core and newness purchase orders to ensure timely inventory receipt at Canadian distribution centres and stores.
  • Close purchase orders regularly to ensure inventory is captured in replenishment.
  • Analyze newness and launch performance and seasonality, adjusting forecasts, receipts, and inventory levels as needed to drive business.
  • Manage regular replenishment forecasts and orders, ordering within the open-to-buy receipt budget.
  • Oversee allocations using analytical insights to support sales performance.
  • Create manual purchase orders as needed, including for newness, new stores, and ad hoc promotional support.
  • Provide visibility into fill rates to the planner and brand partners.
  • Communicate and escalate late key launches to the planner and merchant, with a focus on inventory strategy.
  • Ensure timely inventory receipt for newness launches, animations, and promotional events, and communicate business risks.
  • Set up newness in Blue Yonder (JDA) for accurate inventory purchasing and allocation.
  • Generate reports on vendor and brand fill rates and lead-time accuracy.
  • Validate productive assortments and recommend presentation quantities, items to discontinue, and items to develop within new productivity guidelines and with the merchandising team.
  • Report updated business trends and stock continuity weekly.
  • Conduct seasonal hindsight analyses of newness and key initiatives.
  • Support additional projects as required.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in inventory planning and/or merchandising.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Tech-savvy and proficient in MS Office, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Curious, proactive, and able to use analytical skills to solve problems.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to lead and balance multiple projects while prioritizing integrity and accuracy.
  • Able to communicate clearly and creatively in writing, conversation, and presentations.
  • Adaptable, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and collaborative with cross-functional partners.
  • Prior retail experience is an asset.

Compensation

The base compensation for this position ranges from CAD 66,000 to CAD 74,000 per annum.
