Sephora Singapore seeks Assistant Manager, Financial Controller (SG MY). Lead financial control, compliance, and tax management for SEA omnichannel retail operations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with group, statutory, and regulatory reporting requirements by preparing and submitting accurate financial reports, coordinating with various departments to gather necessary data, and meeting established deadlines
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits, verifying the accuracy of financial statements and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results against budgets and forecasts, identifying deviations and recommending corrective actions
- Support the preparation and submission of tax filings, ensuring accuracy and full compliance with local tax laws
- Identify and manage potential tax risks by monitoring regulatory changes, implementing best practices, and liaising with tax advisors to mitigate issues
- Lead the financial control environment within the market, establishing and maintaining robust internal controls
- Identify financial risks and collaborate with the APAC internal audit team to resolve issues and enhance organizational financial integrity
- Manage cost control processes, monitor expenses, and ensure the company operates within budgetary constraints
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain the integrity of financial information
- Analyze historical financial data to ensure accuracy and adherence to financial regulations and internal policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- Professional certifications such as CPA or CFA are advantageous
- Proficiency in tax filing and compliance, with expertise in managing tax risks and ensuring adherence to local and international regulations
- Expertise in internal controls and audits, including risk assessments and collaboration with internal and external auditors
- Strong background in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Proficiency in preparing, analyzing, and interpreting financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present effectively to senior stakeholders and influence in a multicultural environment
Skills
Experience
At least 4–5 years of professional experience in accounting and financial reporting, including preparation of financial statements and management of month-end and year-end close processes. Demonstrated expertise in tax filing, compliance management, and internal controls framework. Proven experience working with internal and external audit teams in a multicultural environment.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA or CFA are advantageous.
