The Asset Protection Specialist protects Sephora store assets, conducts loss-prevention surveillance and investigations, supports operational controls, and partners with store leadership on audits, inventory and shrinkage-prevention plans. This is a permanent, full-time position requiring 30–40 hours per week, with availability to work flexible hours and at multiple market locations.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Protect store assets from theft and work with the Leadership team to maintain operational controls that reduce shortage.
  • Provide friendly, professional and knowledgeable service to clients as needed.
  • Conduct sales-floor surveillance and use the CCTV system to identify, observe, apprehend or deter individuals committing external theft.
  • Follow applicable laws and Sephora policies concerning apprehensions, search and seizure, and preservation of evidence.
  • Prepare reports on theft incidents, merchandise recoveries, accident investigations and audits.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with internal partners, local law enforcement agencies, mall security and other retailers.
  • Testify on behalf of the company in criminal or civil court cases when summoned.
  • Deliver new-hire and ongoing employee training to maintain store loss-prevention awareness.
  • Conduct store self-audits, checklists and safety inspections, and communicate findings to the store Leadership team and District Loss Prevention Manager.
  • Assist the store Leadership team with inventory preparation and processes.
  • Partner with stores and the District Loss Prevention Manager to develop and execute shrinkage-prevention plans.
  • Meet the minimum required weekly shifts and hours: 30–40 hours for full-time roles or 16–20 hours for part-time roles.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of asset protection or loss prevention experience in a retail environment; the profile specifies a minimum of 3 years.
  • Satisfy and maintain licensing requirements where required by the province or local jurisdiction.
  • Strong written, verbal, interviewing, listening and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain composed and provide effective, in-the-moment coaching on loss-prevention techniques.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Word and Excel is desirable.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Availability to work flexible hours and days, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Availability to work at multiple locations within a market.
  • Ability to work in a fragrance-filled environment, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and bend and stretch to stock shelves.
