Role & Responsibilities

  • Maintain a visible, active presence on the selling floor (approximately 75–80% of scheduled time) to deter theft and support client service and safety.
  • Monitor store activity via CCTV and reporting tools; investigate suspected loss incidents and prepare detailed incident reports.
  • Partner with store leadership and the District Asset Protection Manager to design and implement shrink-reduction and safety initiatives.
  • Conduct audits, complete required documentation and maintain compliance with asset protection policies and licensing requirements.
  • Respond to and professionally manage incidents, including customer or employee confrontations, using conflict de‑escalation techniques and prioritizing safety and experience.
  • Represent the company as required, including providing testimony in legal proceedings when necessary.
  • Participate in trainings and team meetings to reinforce safety protocols and asset protection best practices.
  • Provide coverage across multiple locations as needed and maintain reliable availability for scheduled shifts during peak retail hours (nights, weekends, holidays).

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in retail operations, sales, hospitality, asset protection, or loss prevention.
  • Working knowledge of retail shrink, loss-prevention techniques and standard safety protocols.
  • Proven ability to de‑escalate conflicts and handle sensitive situations with professionalism and composure.
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail for monitoring, investigating and reporting incidents.
  • Ability to build credibility and collaborate effectively with store leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Physically able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and remain on the sales floor for extended periods.
  • Availability to meet the role’s scheduling requirements (Full Time: 30–40 hours/week; nights, weekends and holidays).

Experience
