Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible store presence (approximately 75–80% of shift) on the selling floor to deter theft, support client service and uphold a safe environment.
- Implement and promote store asset protection and safety protocols in partnership with store leadership and the District Asset Protection Manager.
- Monitor store activity using CCTV and reporting tools; investigate discrepancies and losses and prepare audit reports.
- Respond to and manage incidents on-site, including conflict de-escalation and prioritization of client and employee safety.
- Support shrink reduction initiatives through training, meetings and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Ensure compliance with all asset protection policies, licensing requirements and legal obligations; testify in court on behalf of the company if required.
- Provide coverage for multiple locations as needed and demonstrate reliability in scheduling during peak retail periods (nights, weekends, holidays).
Qualifications
- 1–2 years in retail operations, sales, hospitality, asset protection, or loss prevention.
- Practical understanding of retail shrink, safety procedures and store operations.
- Proven ability to de-escalate conflict and manage sensitive incidents professionally.
- Comfortable using CCTV and reporting tools for monitoring and investigations.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and collaborate across store teams.
- High attention to detail and strong written communication for audit and incident reporting.
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and to remain mobile on the sales floor.
- Availability for 30–40 hours per week and flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays; willingness to testify in legal proceedings if required.
Skills
Experience
1–2 years of hands-on experience in retail operations, loss prevention, hospitality, or a related field, including experience with CCTV, incident handling and shrink-reduction initiatives.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework or certification in loss prevention, security, or related fields is advantageous.
