Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct surveillance on sales floor and utilize CCTV systems to identify, observe, and apprehend or deter individuals committing external theft
- Prepare detailed reports on theft incidents, merchandise recoveries, accident investigations, and audits
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal partners, local law enforcement, mall security, and other retailers
- Testify in court on behalf of the company in criminal or civil cases as required
- Provide new hire and continuous employee training on loss prevention awareness
- Conduct store self-audits, checklists, and safety inspections
- Communicate audit findings to store leadership and District Loss Prevention Manager
- Assist store leadership with inventory preparation and processes
- Partner with stores and district management in developing and executing shrinkage prevention plans
- Maintain required licensing per provincial or local jurisdiction
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of asset protection or loss prevention experience in retail environment
- Maintain all licensing requirements as required by province or local jurisdiction
- Strong written, verbal, interviewing, listening, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to maintain composure and provide effective coaching in loss prevention techniques
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Availability to work at multiple locations within a market
