Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible store presence (approximately 75–80% of scheduled time on the sales floor) to deter theft, reinforce safety and support client service.
- Use CCTV and company reporting tools to monitor activity, identify losses, and conduct investigations into incidents or suspicious behavior.
- Respond to incidents and de‑escalate conflicts professionally while preserving client experience and employee safety.
- Partner with store leadership and the District Asset Protection Manager to develop and implement shrink‑reduction and safety initiatives.
- Lead or participate in meetings and training to reinforce asset protection protocols and heighten team awareness.
- Conduct audits, prepare loss prevention reports, and ensure compliance with company asset protection policies and applicable licensing requirements.
- Provide flexible support across multiple store locations and, when necessary, represent the company in legal proceedings (testify in court).
- Adhere to punctuality and scheduling requirements; maintain availability for peak retail hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in retail operations, sales, hospitality, asset protection or loss prevention.
- Demonstrable understanding of retail shrink, safety practices and loss prevention methodologies.
- Proven conflict de‑escalation skills and the ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion.
- Comfortable and experienced using CCTV systems and company reporting tools for investigations.
- Excellent verbal communication, attention to detail and the capacity to build trust across cross‑functional teams.
- Physically able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and perform typical retail duties.
- Reliable availability for a full‑time retail schedule (30–40 hrs/week), including nights, weekends and holidays.
Skills
Experience
1–2 years of hands‑on experience in retail operations, sales, hospitality, asset protection or loss prevention with familiarity in shrink mitigation, safety protocols and basic investigative techniques.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; post‑secondary training or certification in security, criminal justice or loss prevention preferred.
