Role & Responsibilities

  • Safeguard store assets against theft and maintain operational controls to minimize loss.
  • Conduct surveillance on the sales floor and utilize CCTV systems to identify and deter theft.
  • Adhere to legal and company policies regarding apprehensions, searches, and evidence preservation.
  • Prepare detailed reports on theft incidents, merchandise recoveries, and accident investigations.
  • Develop professional relationships with internal partners, law enforcement, and mall security.
  • Testify in court for criminal or civil cases as required.
  • Provide training to new and existing employees on loss prevention awareness.
  • Conduct store audits, safety inspections, and communicate findings to leadership.
  • Assist with inventory preparation and execution of shrinkage prevention plans.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in asset protection or loss prevention within a retail environment.
  • Meet all licensing requirements as per provincial or local jurisdiction.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Skills

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to maintain composure and provide effective coaching on loss prevention techniques. Proficiency in Windows, Word, and Excel. Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Capability to work across multiple locations within a market.

Experience

A minimum of 1 year in asset protection or loss prevention in a retail setting is required.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent.
