Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible presence on the selling floor (approximately 75–80% of scheduled hours) to deter theft, support customer service and ensure a safe environment.
- Monitor store activity using CCTV and reporting systems to identify, investigate and document losses or safety incidents.
- Respond to incidents by de-escalating situations professionally, prioritizing guest and employee safety while preserving the client experience.
- Partner with store leadership and the District Asset Protection Manager to design and implement shrink-reduction and safety initiatives.
- Conduct audits, complete loss-prevention reporting and maintain compliance with asset protection policies and licensing requirements.
- Support multiple store locations as needed and represent the company in legal proceedings, including testifying in court when required.
- Participate in meetings and training to reinforce asset protection protocols and promote safety awareness across the store team.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years' experience in retail operations, sales, hospitality, asset protection or loss prevention.
- Proven ability to de-escalate conflicts and manage sensitive situations calmly and professionally.
- Availability for flexible scheduling including nights, weekends and holidays; ability to meet full-time weekly hours (30–40 hrs/week).
- Strong attention to detail, reliable punctuality and consistent attendance.
- Physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to comply with company asset protection policies and local licensing and legal requirements.
Skills
Experience
Minimum 1–2 years in retail operations, sales, hospitality, asset protection or loss prevention with demonstrable experience in floor presence, incident response and basic investigative or reporting tasks.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
