Sephora Paris La Défense is hiring an AI Engineer Apprentice (alternance) to support ML model development, data engineering and prototyping.
Role & Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, implementation and evaluation of machine learning prototypes and AI models for retail and product use-cases.
- Prepare, clean and augment datasets; perform exploratory data analysis and feature engineering to support model development.
- Implement reproducible code and experiments using best-practice software engineering (version control, unit tests, documentation).
- Execute model validation, benchmarking and performance tuning; produce clear evaluation reports and visualisations for stakeholders.
- Support integration and deployment activities in collaboration with engineering and product teams, and maintain model artefacts and pipelines.
- Contribute to cross-functional workstreams, translate functional requirements into technical tasks and communicate progress to supervisors.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field (alternance/apprenticeship contract).
- Solid programming ability in Python and familiarity with common ML libraries and frameworks.
- Strong analytical foundation in statistics and machine learning fundamentals (supervised/unsupervised learning, model evaluation).
- Good understanding of data manipulation and query languages (e.g., SQL) and experience with data preprocessing.
- Highly organised, rigorous and able to work autonomously while integrating into multidisciplinary teams.

Beginner level — suitable for a candidate early in their career. Academic projects, coursework or short internships in machine learning, data science or software development are advantageous.
Education
Enrolled in a relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree (Computer Science, Data Science, AI or equivalent) and eligible for an alternance/apprenticeship contract.
