Sephora is hiring an AI and Distribution Analytics Intern for a full-time, 10-week internship from June 14 to August 20, 2027, at its Utah Distribution Center in Salt Lake City. The onsite role works 36 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and applies AI, analytics, and process improvement to distribution operations; target pay is $27 per hour.
Role & Responsibilities
- Analyze Utah Distribution Center operational data to identify trends, bottlenecks, risks, and opportunities across inventory, labor, quality, safety, capacity, and service.
- Apply AI, predictive modeling, and optimization methods to improve inventory flow, labor planning, capacity, quality, safety, and service.
- Evaluate automation, robotics, and process performance to identify opportunities to improve uptime, productivity, and exception recovery.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and decision-support tools that translate data into actionable operational insights.
- Partner with distribution center associates and cross-functional teams to test recommendations, support implementation, and deliver a capstone solution with measurable impact and a sustainable implementation plan.

Qualifications
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Operations Research, or a related field.
- Experience with AI tools and machine learning concepts; predictive modeling or AI solution development experience preferred.
- Experience analyzing data using SQL, Python, R, or similar tools; experience with Power BI, Tableau, or a similar visualization platform preferred.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, supply chain processes, or logistics; familiarity with optimization techniques, simulation modeling, or operations research preferred.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into practical recommendations.
- Strong communication, presentation, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills, including storytelling with data.
- Graduating in 2027 or 2028 with an undergraduate or graduate degree.
- Work schedule must align with 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.
- Must permanently reside and work in the United States.
- Must be open to relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area upon graduation for consideration for full-time hybrid positions.
