Role & Responsibilities
- Provide on‑site coverage to support store operations during planned and unplanned absences and peak business periods.
- Engage customers proactively: greet, advise, recommend merchandise, and close sales to meet individual and store targets.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of store inventory and product assortments to guide styling and purchasing decisions.
- Process sales transactions accurately using the POS register and adhere to company checkout standards.
- Build repeat business by cultivating customer relationships and promoting loyalty programs, including the Saks credit card.
- Maintain selling floor and fitting room standards: execute markdowns, handle go‑backs, re‑size fixtures, and update signage.
- Participate in store selling events and complete leadership‑assigned tasks or special projects with urgency.
- Follow Asset Protection protocols and report shortages or suspicious activity via company reporting channels.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a retail, customer service, or sales environment.
- Proven sales orientation with a results‑driven mindset.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Well‑developed knowledge of fashion trends and product categories.
- Ability to operate store equipment (POS register, radios, ticket scanners, sensor removers).
