Role & Responsibilities

• Monitor workplace safety and security through surveillance methods and physical patrols to identify potential threats and access violations
• Detect and apprehend suspected shoplifters, document incidents thoroughly, and complete all required investigative and legal documentation
• Develop, implement, and execute localized shortage mitigation strategies and conduct comprehensive security audits aligned with company standards
• Maintain and enforce physical security standards throughout the store, promptly initiating corrective measures when deficiencies are identified
• Facilitate the selling process by ensuring consistent adherence to Asset Protection policies and procedures that safeguard customers, associates, and company assets
• Investigate internal and external theft exposures, accident incidents, and general liability claims; prepare detailed audit reports using collected data
• Perform operational Asset Protection audits and self-audits in high-shortage departments and sensitive areas to identify improvement opportunities
• Present strategic recommendations for Asset Protection enhancement to senior leadership based on audit findings and performance data
• Respond to after-hours alarm activations and emergency situations as scheduled
• Execute assigned special projects and tasks as directed by store leadership
• Participate actively in store-wide Asset Protection communications, including safety meetings, new hire training, and best practices sessions

Qualifications

• Valid region-specific or state-specific security license as required by local government regulations
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Knowledge of retail procedures and criminal/civil legal processes
• Working knowledge of retail security systems and information management platforms
• Demonstrated ability to communicate Asset Protection practices and industry trends effectively to diverse audiences

Skills

Experience

Retail security or asset protection experience preferred; familiarity with loss prevention best practices and investigative procedures is advantageous.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of all state- or jurisdiction-specific security training and licensing programs required.

Compensation

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 21.53 to USD 26.91 per hour.
