Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct and document investigations into internal and external theft, including detentions and application of the five stages of arrest.
- Perform Asset Protection operational audits, internal self-audits, and shortage analyses in high-risk departments to achieve storewide shortage targets.
- Develop, implement and execute local shortage mitigation strategies and participate in safety, shortage and training meetings.
- Maintain and adjust physical security standards; respond to after-hours alarm calls and emergency situations as required.
- Compile audit and investigative data to generate reports and present opportunities for loss-prevention improvements to senior leadership.
- Support the selling environment by enforcing policies and procedures that protect customers, associates and company assets.
- Complete accident investigations and general liability claims reports; execute special projects as assigned by store leadership.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must satisfy and maintain applicable state or local licensing requirements, including any region/market-specific security license.
- Proven knowledge of retail procedures and criminal/civil proceeding processes is an asset.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and general productivity software.
Skills
Experience
Previous experience in retail asset protection, loss prevention, security investigations, or comparable security roles, with a track record of conducting investigations, performing audits, detentions and producing investigative reports.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent. Additional security certifications or formal Asset Protection training preferred.

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 22.12 to USD 25 per hour.
