Role & Responsibilities
- Execute retail asset protection and shortage‑reduction strategies, including local audits and operational self‑audits in sensitive departments.
- Conduct investigations into internal and external theft, detain suspected shoplifters following company procedures and complete all required documentation.
- Maintain and adjust physical security standards; respond to after‑hours alarm calls and emergency situations as needed.
- Drive Asset Protection best practices through store‑wide communication, training, new hire orientation and safety/shortage meetings.
- Compile and analyse audit data and investigative findings to present opportunities for improving loss prevention strategy to senior leadership.
- Support selling operations by ensuring consistent adherence to policies that protect customers, associates and company assets.
- Complete accident investigations, general liability claims reports and ad hoc special projects assigned by store leadership.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must satisfy and maintain all state or local licensing requirements; valid region/market security license required where applicable.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
- Awareness of retail procedures and criminal/civil proceeding processes is an asset.
- Aptitude with retail security and information systems and general productivity software.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Experience
Prior experience in retail asset protection, loss prevention or security investigations is preferred; demonstrated ability to perform investigations, complete audit reporting and work collaboratively with store leadership to achieve shortage targets.
