Role & Responsibilities
- Act as a role model for the Saks OFF 5TH customer experience while executing asset protection standards across the store.
- Monitor and maintain physical security standards; initiate timely adjustments to mitigate risk.
- Detect, detain and process shoplifting incidents using established arrest procedures and complete required documentation.
- Lead and contribute to store‑level shortage strategy, audits and operational self‑audits in high‑risk departments to achieve company shortage targets.
- Compile investigative and audit reports, analyse audit data and present recommendations to senior leadership to improve asset protection strategies.
- Respond to after‑hours alarm calls and emergency situations as required.
- Facilitate training and communication regarding asset protection best practices during new hire orientation, team meetings and shortage reviews.
- Support store leadership by efficiently completing assigned tasks and special projects related to safety, shortage control and loss prevention.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must satisfy and maintain all applicable licensing requirements; valid region/market security license required per local regulation.
- Working knowledge of retail procedures and the criminal/civil proceeding process preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
- Demonstrated investigative aptitude, including evidence documentation, interviewing and report writing.
- Ability to communicate asset protection trends and practices effectively to store teams and leadership.
- Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Skills
Experience
Prior experience in retail asset protection, loss prevention, or equivalent law‑enforcement/security roles is preferred; demonstrable experience conducting investigations, audits and shortage mitigation in a retail environment is desirable.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
