Saks OFF 5TH in Miami seeks an Asset Protection Door Guard. Onsite full-time position, $16.03–$20.03/hr, supporting store security and loss-prevention efforts.
Role & Responsibilities
- Act as the visible security presence at store entrances to protect customers, associates and company assets while delivering the Saks OFF 5TH customer experience.
- Detect, detain and document incidents of theft and suspicious activity, applying established arrest and de-escalation procedures (including the five stages of arrest).
- Communicate Asset Protection best practices across the store, participating in training, new-hire orientation, safety and shortage meetings.
- Contribute to local shortage strategy and execute audits in accordance with company standards; compile and present audit data to senior leadership.
- Maintain and adjust physical-security standards and store-level security hardware/processes in a timely manner.
- Support selling operations through consistent adherence to policies that safeguard customers and associates while minimizing disruption to business.
- Investigate internal and external theft exposures, complete accident and general liability reports, and achieve investigative performance targets.
- Perform Asset Protection operational audits and internal self-audits in high-shortage or sensitive areas.
- Respond to after-hours alarm calls and emergency situations as needed and complete special projects assigned by store leadership.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must satisfy and maintain all required state or local security licensing; valid region/market-specific security license required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
- Working knowledge of retail security and information systems and productivity software; awareness of retail procedures and criminal/civil proceeding processes is an asset.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Skills
Experience
Experience in retail asset protection, loss prevention, or security operations is preferred; prior frontline retail or customer-facing security experience is advantageous.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
