Saks Global seeks Senior POS Engineer in New York, leading luxury retail POS transformation with C++, Azure, and AWS expertise.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead selection and implementation of modern point-of-sale systems, including mobile POS infrastructure
- Develop technical releases and maintain business continuity for legacy NCR Cornerstone POS applications
- Bridge existing legacy applications to modern technology stacks through strategic architecture
- Serve as technical expert for in-store custom applications including cash management, returns, electronic journal, and payment integrations
- Architect, develop, and implement in-store applications following Change Management and ITIL processes
- Collaborate with product and QA teams to ensure high-quality deliverables and seamless implementations
- Participate in project meetings from a technical perspective with retail luxury sector expertise
- Deliver technical solutions with emphasis on event-based transactions, efficiency, sustainability, and high availability
- Lead omni-channel technical engagements to foster seamless customer journey experiences
- Manage critical outages impacting store applications and provide guidance to technology partners
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent hands-on professional experience
- Minimum 10+ years in technology within the retail industry
- Minimum 10+ years hands-on technical and architecture experience with retail POS, mobile POS, and credit/debit payment authorizations
- Proficiency in Point of Sale applications (NCR experience preferred), C++, C#, ASP.Net, REST Web Services, JSON, XML, Azure, Git, GitHub, Amazon Web Services, and Kafka
- Change agent mentality with strong focus on continuous improvement and technology modernization
- Proven ability to manage third-party technical vendors
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Adept problem solver and quick learner capable of leveraging technical skills across multiple disciplines

Experience
Minimum 10+ years working in technology within the retail industry, with at least 10+ years of hands-on technical and architecture experience in retail point-of-sale systems, mobile POS platforms, and credit/debit payment authorization systems. Demonstrated background managing enterprise-scale technology projects and third-party vendor relationships. Experience with legacy system modernization and technology stack migrations highly valued.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent professional working experience in technology architecture and software engineering.

Compensation
The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 161,000 to USD 209,000 per annum.
