Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting at Saks Global in Texas—$80K–$105K annually. Full-time luxury retail finance role.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform and review general ledger activities including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes to deliver timely and accurate financial reporting aligned with close deadlines
  • Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules, variance analyses, and internal management reports with a focus on data accuracy and insight quality
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support financial planning and performance tracking
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly internal reporting packages for finance and accounting leadership, ensuring accuracy, clarity and adherence to timelines
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial reporting (similar to Form 10-Q/10-K), standalone entity financials, and other periodic reporting materials
  • Lead the quarterly and annual financial preparation process, including gathering footnote and support schedules from other teams, updating documents, drafting language and completing disclosure checklists
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to support audit readiness and risk mitigation
  • Support internal and external audits by providing timely documentation and clear explanations to meet audit deadlines and requirements, coordinating audit request delivery across teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and identify process improvement opportunities, including automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy
  • Monitor new pronouncements and developments in accounting and financial reporting guidance, assist in impact analysis and implementation planning, draft technical accounting memos, and support auditor review

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 4-6 years of accounting experience in public accounting or industry
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, accounting principles, internal controls, and financial literacy
  • Experience with general ledger and other financial systems and preparation of account reconciliations and analysis
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Active CPA license or CPA candidacy near completion strongly preferred
  • Background in Big 4 or public accounting
  • Experience with Oracle EPM, Hyperion, or advanced Excel skills
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance or other regulatory frameworks
  • Analytical thinking and ability to work cross-functionally

Experience
