Role & Responsibilities
- Produce and coordinate the preparation of food items for daily menus and special events, utilizing menu counts and production sheets to control waste
- Conduct daily and weekly inventory audits and maintain awareness of inventory costs and profitability
- Coordinate production of daily menu items according to specifications, checking inventory levels and communicating supply needs with the head cook
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with all health and sanitation standards to ensure food product integrity
- Perform daily equipment maintenance and report any malfunctions to the designated associate
- Maintain consistent food production flow throughout service hours by communicating promptly with restaurant associates
- Verify all special orders with designated associates and adjust production accordingly
- Close and sanitize the work area according to health codes at shift end and prepare items required for the next day's production
- Communicate all supply needs to supervisors and check in before departure
- Uphold all health and sanitation standards as directed by Neiman Marcus, local health departments, and third-party sanitation auditors
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 3 years of relevant cooking or food service experience
- Ability to stand, bend, climb stairs, and lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Collaborative mindset with strong teamwork orientation
Skills
Experience
At least 3 years of professional cooking or food service experience in a high-volume or upscale dining setting.
Education
High school diploma or GED required.
