Confidential luxury brand — New York: Manager, People Business Partner to lead HR for the flagship store.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary HR business partner for the New York flagship, advising the Store Director and senior store leadership on people strategy, staffing, and operational HR matters.
  • Drive end-to-end talent management for the store: workforce planning, recruitment coordination, onboarding, performance management, succession planning and career development.
  • Lead complex employee relations casework and investigations, ensuring decisions comply with local employment law and company policy while protecting the brand and employee confidentiality.
  • Partner with compensation & benefits, L&D and talent acquisition teams to implement local programs, incentive schemes and learning solutions tailored to frontline retail needs.
  • Provide HR counsel during store initiatives, launches, remodels and peak seasonal activity; lead change-management activities and communications at store level.
  • Analyse HR metrics and produce actionable reports (turnover, retention, engagement, staffing forecasts) to inform store-level decision-making and senior leadership.
  • Ensure local compliance with federal, state and city employment regulations (including NY-specific requirements) and maintain accurate HR records and documentation.
  • Coach and develop store managers on people leadership, performance conversations, disciplinary processes and employee engagement best practices.

Qualifications

  • Proven HRBP experience supporting retail or high-volume store operations; preferably with exposure to flagship stores in major metropolitan markets.
  • Demonstrable experience handling complex employee relations and investigations in compliance with New York and U.S. employment law.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with a record of partnering effectively with store leadership and cross-functional HR teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to operate with discretion and high ethical standards.
  • Data-literate: ability to interpret HR metrics, build simple dashboards and translate insights into operational actions.

Experience
