Luxury restaurant in Paris seeks a Restaurant Cook to join its culinary team; fine-dining experience preferred.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute menu items to the exacting standards of a fine-dining kitchen, ensuring consistent quality, portioning and presentation.
  • Operate and maintain one or more kitchen stations (e.g., hot line, garde-manger, sauté, grill) during service with precision and speed.
  • Perform mise en place, ingredient preparation, butchery and basic butchery tasks as required to support seamless service.
  • Follow standardized recipes and plating guidelines while contributing practical suggestions for menu refinement and specials.
  • Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene and allergen controls (including HACCP principles) and maintain a spotless workstation.
  • Manage stock rotation, report inventory needs, minimise waste and support cost-control measures in collaboration with the sous/chef de cuisine.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff and temporary hires to maintain operational consistency.
  • Participate in service briefings, post-service debriefs and continuous improvement initiatives to elevate kitchen performance.

Qualifications

  • Vocational culinary diploma or equivalent professional training preferred.
  • Practical experience in a professional kitchen — ideally within a high-volume or fine-dining environment.
  • Demonstrable knife skills, station management and fundamental butchery techniques.
  • Knowledge of HACCP and food-safety regulations; food-handling certification advantageous.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, and to perform under pressure.
