Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic legal advice in partnership with the VP, Associate General Counsel to address privacy and security risks while supporting customer focus and business growth
  • Monitor and advise on global privacy requirements and emerging privacy and data security legislation across all operating jurisdictions
  • Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of data and privacy-related agreements, including vendor and customer contracts
  • Draft and negotiate data processing agreements and third-party data transfer or protection agreements
  • Conduct periodic evaluation and updating of business unit privacy policies across the organization
  • Develop and deliver global privacy training programs tailored for specific audiences and geographic regions
  • Manage incident response plans and processes in partnership with the technology security team
  • Drive implementation of regulatory and compliance initiatives, including project management for product-related changes responding to legal developments
  • Support business functions in identifying data flows and documenting data flow maps for the global privacy compliance program
  • Serve as primary manager of all consumer request workflows and consumer rights procedures

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required
  • Member in good standing of the bar in at least one U.S. state
  • 6–8 years of experience as a practicing attorney
  • Minimum of 4 years of legal experience at a reputable law firm providing primary counsel on privacy matters
  • Extensive data privacy knowledge and demonstrated expertise in privacy law
  • Strong communication skills with ability to present clear, practical legal advice
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Team-oriented approach with ability to establish and maintain effective relationships across all organizational levels
  • Ability to make reasoned decisions and provide sound legal advice considering business needs

Experience

Education

Juris Doctor (JD) degree required. CIPP/CIPM/CIPT certification or equivalent privacy credential is desirable.
