Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain and administer the company’s global trade compliance programme, ensuring adherence to export controls, sanctions and customs regulations across markets.
- Classify products for customs purposes (HS codes) and determine export control classifications (e.g., ECCN), preparing and maintaining required documentation and licences.
- Perform denied‑party and sanctions screening of customers, vendors and shipments; escalate potential matches and manage remediation actions.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, internal logistics and commercial teams to ensure compliant import/export clearances and accurate customs declarations.
- Support audits and internal control reviews; prepare trade compliance records and reports to meet statutory retention requirements.
- Monitor regulatory developments in key jurisdictions (EU, UK, US and other relevant markets) and translate changes into updated policies, procedures and employee guidance.
- Deliver targeted training and guidance to commercial, logistics and product teams on trade controls, Incoterms and customs requirements.
- Assist with risk assessments, classification disputes, and remediation plans arising from non‑compliance or regulatory inquiries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in law, international trade, logistics, supply chain management or a related discipline.
- Professional certification in international trade or customs (e.g., CITP, customs broker licence) is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of export control regimes, sanctions frameworks and customs procedures across major jurisdictions.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a matrixed organisation.

Typically 3+ years of hands‑on experience in international trade compliance, customs, or export controls, preferably within luxury goods, fashion, retail or a multinational manufacturing environment.
