Confidential luxury house — Facility Engineer role in Paris, France. Responsible for building services, maintenance and facilities projects.
Role & Responsibilities
- Ensure reliable operation, preventive maintenance and timely repair of all building services: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration and life-safety systems.
- Operate and optimise the Building Management System (BMS) and liaise with contractors for technical upgrades and emergency interventions.
- Own facilities capital projects from specification through delivery: tendering, contractor supervision, commissioning and handover.
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance plans, spare-parts inventories and technical documentation for assets and installations.
- Manage third-party service providers and subcontractors, enforcing service-level agreements, safety standards and quality controls.
- Monitor energy consumption and implement efficiency measures in collaboration with sustainability and procurement teams.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, statutory inspections, fire safety regulations and internal health & safety policies.
- Prepare technical reports, budget forecasts for facilities, and support senior management on asset lifecycle decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Facilities Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
- Professional certification or technical qualification in HVAC, refrigeration, electrical safety or similar is desirable.
- Demonstrable knowledge of local building regulations, fire safety codes and environmental compliance requirements.
- Valid work authorisation for the job location and ability to be available for on-call rotas and site emergencies.
Skills
Experience
Typically 3–7 years of progressively responsible facilities, building services or maintenance engineering experience, ideally within manufacturing, luxury retail, ateliers or hospitality environments. Proven track record delivering MEP projects and managing contractors on occupied sites.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management or a closely related technical discipline.
