A luxury goods employer operating at the intersection of artisanal craft and global retail. The organisation combines exacting product standards with high-touch customer and store environments, requiring a facilities function that preserves brand presentation while ensuring technical resilience across boutiques, ateliers and corporate sites.
Facilities Engineer at a confidential luxury brand in Paris, France — responsible for MEP systems, maintenance programmes and CAPEX for boutiques and sites.
Role & Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain building services (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety and MEP systems) across boutiques, offices and production sites to ensure continuous, brand-appropriate environments.
- Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programmes, including work-order prioritisation, SLA management and lifecycle planning for critical assets.
- Supervise external contractors and specialist vendors, control subcontractor performance, ensure contractual compliance and approve shop drawings and technical proposals.
- Oversee Building Management Systems (BMS), monitor performance, implement energy-efficiency initiatives and coordinate commissioning and decommissioning activities.
- Coordinate CAPEX and OPEX projects: scope technical works, produce cost estimates, support procurement and manage on-site execution to budget and deadline.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, statutory inspections, health & safety regulations and fire-safety requirements; prepare technical documentation and regulatory submissions.
- Support new store openings, refits and pop-up activations by providing technical oversight, site inspections and handover documentation.
- Respond to facilities-related incidents and emergencies, lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions to mitigate recurrence.
- Maintain accurate asset registers, maintenance records and technical drawings; prepare regular reports for senior management on facility performance and spend.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering, Facilities Management or equivalent technical discipline.
- Professional engineering accreditation or chartership preferred (where applicable) and demonstrable knowledge of local building codes and safety legislation.
- Proven ability to manage contractors, tender processes and capital projects in a multi-site retail or production environment.
- Strong technical literacy in MEP systems, HVAC refrigeration cycles, electrical distribution and fire-safety installations.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to interface with both technical teams and senior non-technical stakeholders.
