Saks Global seeks an E-commerce Category Specialist in New York to drive online performance and brand growth across luxury retail channels.
Role & Responsibilities
- Partner with management to develop and implement comprehensive e-commerce brand-specific strategies aligned with business objectives and online sales targets
- Collaborate with merchandising and buying teams to influence product assortment decisions and optimize category productivity
- Ensure merchandising best practices are executed with precision across all digital touchpoints, including navigation, product arrays, search results, and linking strategy; partner with Digital Experience teams to troubleshoot and optimize site performance
- Maintain effective product categorization, filtering, and navigation structures to enhance user experience and facilitate category discoverability
- Ensure product information accuracy and consistency across all online channels and touchpoints
- Track, analyze, and report on key category and brand performance metrics including sales, conversion rates, average order value, traffic, and bounce rates
- Monitor competitive activities and adjust strategies proactively to maintain market positioning
- Work collaboratively with buying, merchandising, and external brand partners to align on brand growth strategies and market opportunities
- Execute website enhancements and resolve technical issues in partnership with digital experience teams
- Address ad hoc analytical requests, synthesize large datasets into actionable insights, and deliver strategic recommendations that inform business decisions
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of category management experience, preferably within an e-commerce environment (retail buying, merchandising, or digital marketing experience is also valued)
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, E-commerce, or a related field
- Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms, functionalities, and industry best practices
- Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated ability to interpret data, draw meaningful conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations
- Strong organizational capabilities with proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) and product information management (PIM) systems preferred
- Proficiency in web analytics tools such as Google Analytics preferred
