Director, Compensation role in New York (remote). Lead compensation strategy, salary structures, and total rewards programs for a luxury organization.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee comprehensive compensation and benefits strategies aligned with organizational objectives and luxury sector benchmarks
- Manage salary structures, grade bands, and pay equity analyses across global offices and regional markets
- Partner with human resources leadership to design competitive rewards programs that attract and retain executive and specialist talent
- Administer performance-based compensation systems, incentive plans, and bonus structures for all employee levels
- Conduct market compensation analyses and benchmarking studies against peer luxury groups and industry standards
- Ensure compliance with local labour regulations, tax codes, and employment laws across jurisdictions
- Lead compensation communications and education initiatives to promote transparency and employee understanding of total rewards packages
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, economics, or related field
- Advanced certification in compensation and benefits (CCP, CEBS, or equivalent) preferred
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in compensation management within luxury, FMCG, or comparable multinational environments
- Demonstrated expertise in compensation strategy, market analysis, and incentive design
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and employment law across multiple jurisdictions
- Proficiency in compensation software, HR information systems, and data analytics platforms
Skills
Experience
Minimum 10 years of progressive compensation management experience, with at least 5 years in a director-level or equivalent strategic role within multinational luxury, consumer goods, or professional services organizations. Proven track record of designing and implementing enterprise-wide compensation strategies, managing multi-country pay structures, and driving organizational alignment through rewards architecture.
Education
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, economics, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, MHRM) or professional certification (CCP, CEBS) highly valued.
