David Yurman seeks a Category Specialist in New York, NY to manage assortment, forecasting and inventory for assigned jewellery categories.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Own category-level assortment planning and SKU rationalization to maximize sell-through and margin across channels.
  • Produce weekly and monthly sales, inventory and trend reports; translate data into actionable merchandising decisions.
  • Develop demand forecasts and replenishment plans in collaboration with planning and supply-chain teams to optimize inventory levels.
  • Support pricing and promotional strategy for assigned categories, including margin modeling and markdown management.
  • Partner with design, product development and production teams to translate commercial insights into future assortments.
  • Manage buy/receipt cadence, allocation and open-to-buy processes to align inventory with selling windows.
  • Prepare business presentations for commercial leadership and participate in cross-functional merchandising reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product lifecycle, assortment breadth and category profitability through analysis and process enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Finance, or a related discipline; postgraduate study desirable but not required.
  • 3+ years of merchandising, category management or buying experience within luxury, fine jewellery, accessories or premium apparel.
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen with proven experience driving sales and margin improvements through assortment decisions.
  • Strong numerical literacy and ability to build and interpret financial models and inventory plans.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience presenting recommendations to cross‑functional stakeholders.

Experience
