The Buying Operations Associate reports to the Buying Operations Manager and works closely with Merchandising Planning, sample and buying teams in North America, and other stakeholders. The role processes and prioritizes purchase orders, coordinates with vendors, supports replenishment forecasting and stock balancing, and reports on order status, vendor performance, and operational metrics. Full-time role.
Role & Responsibilities
- Process purchase orders accurately and on time using relevant tools.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to confirm order details and delivery schedules, and resolve discrepancies.
- Prioritize orders according to urgency, business needs, and service level agreements.
- Work with Planners, Buyers, and other stakeholders to manage replenishment inventory through accurate forecasting and correction of relevant components, supporting department in-stock goals.
- Apply knowledge of stock-store minimums, presentation minimums, maximums, safety stock, review time, lead time, and store-to-store transfers.
- Balance stock by maintaining in-stock goals through effective product distribution; analyze sales history and trends to develop allocation strategies that maximize sales potential and maintain appropriate store inventory levels.
- Provide regular reports on order status, vendor performance, and operational metrics.
Qualifications
- Graduate degree.
- Retail industry experience is preferred, with working knowledge of supply chain.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, advanced Excel capability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage and interpret data using statistical concepts.
- Strong planning and operational skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and good knowledge of other Microsoft Office tools.
- Collaborative team player.
- Highly motivated and committed to producing high-quality work.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with vendors and internal teams.
