Role & Responsibilities
- Support the divisional buyer in achieving sales and gross margin objectives through assortment, pricing and promotional execution.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the buying office, including vendor communications, sample coordination and marketing proposals/co-op administration.
- Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships; negotiate buying terms and end-of-season arrangements.
- Recap and analyze selling, category and vendor performance to inform assortment and replenishment decisions.
- Develop and execute seasonal merchandise strategies based on customer needs, product performance, industry trends and analytics.
- Accurately forecast monthly receipts, manage inventory flow and partner with planners to build seasonal financial plans and budgets.
- Prepare for and attend market appointments with strategic assortment plans and a clear customer-centric rationale.
- Coordinate with omni and marketing teams to maintain online product content, imagery and campaign sample flow.
- Coach and develop Merchandise Assistants to support team objectives.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership, communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders.
- Agility and resilience to perform in a fast-paced, evolving retail environment.
- Strong analytical capability with experience using sales and inventory data to drive decisions.
- Exceptional proficiency with Microsoft Excel; Excel certification is a plus.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented mindset with a strong customer focus.
- Retail or service experience preferred; prior footwear or women's accessories merchandising/buying experience highly desirable.
- Must live within commuting distance of New York City.

Demonstrated experience in retail buying or merchandising, ideally 2+ years in luxury or department-store environments; prior exposure to footwear or women's categories preferred.
Education
Bachelor's degree in business, merchandising, fashion or a related field preferred.
