Assistant Buyer, Home position in Santa Fe, NM. Support luxury home furnishings buying strategy and vendor partnerships.
Role & Responsibilities
- Assist in the identification and evaluation of home furnishing and décor products for seasonal and strategic buying cycles
- Support the development and maintenance of vendor relationships within the home category
- Participate in market research to track emerging trends, competitor offerings, and consumer preferences in luxury home goods
- Coordinate product specifications, samples, and technical documentation with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Monitor inventory levels, sales performance, and product lifecycle to inform purchasing decisions
- Contribute to pricing strategy and margin analysis for home merchandise assortments
- Prepare reports and presentations on category performance, vendor performance, and market opportunities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Economics, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated knowledge of or passion for luxury home furnishings, interior design, or home décor
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in spreadsheet applications and basic data interpretation
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
