Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead investigations into suspected internal and external theft, fraud and inventory discrepancies across assigned stores and channels.
  • Collect, preserve and document evidence (CCTV, digital records, witness statements) in line with legal and brand standards.
  • Conduct covert and overt surveillance operations, including onsite inspections and remote monitoring of stores and personnel.
  • Interview witnesses and suspects using structured investigative techniques; prepare accurate, objective interview reports.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement and legal counsel when escalation or prosecution is required.
  • Prepare detailed case files and incident reports for follow-up, civil recovery or disciplinary action.
  • Analyse loss trends and provide actionable recommendations to store management to reduce shrink and operational risk.
  • Deliver training and briefings for retail teams on loss-prevention best practices, evidence handling and incident response.
  • Support asset-protection projects such as shrinkage audits, vulnerability assessments and policy reviews.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years' investigative experience in retail loss prevention, private security or law enforcement.
  • Valid security licence or permit where legally required; ability to obtain local licences if necessary.
  • Clean background check and acceptance of pre-employment screening (criminal record and reference checks).
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel between stores and to regional offices.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and to respond to incidents at short notice.
