Asset Protection Investigator position in Houston, Florida. Conduct investigations into retail loss and fraud incidents.
Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough investigations into asset loss, theft, and fraud incidents across retail locations
- Gather, document, and analyze evidence from security systems, point-of-sale records, and witness statements
- Interview employees and customers to establish facts and timelines related to suspected incidents
- Prepare comprehensive investigative reports and maintain detailed case files for legal and management review
- Collaborate with law enforcement and external agencies on cases requiring external intervention
- Develop and implement preventative measures and loss-reduction strategies based on investigation findings
- Train store staff on asset protection protocols and security best practices
Qualifications
- Proven experience in loss prevention, fraud investigation, or internal audit within retail or hospitality environments
- Strong understanding of retail operations and supply chain vulnerabilities
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical capability
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
- Professional certification in loss prevention or investigations (preferred)
Skills
Experience
5-7 years of progressive experience in asset protection, loss prevention, or fraud investigation, preferably within retail, luxury retail, or hospitality environments. Prior experience with high-value merchandise and organized retail crime is advantageous.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in criminal justice, business, or related field preferred.
