Role & Responsibilities
- Manage inbound operations by receiving, verifying contents against manifests, and organizing garments by customer promise date
- Conduct final quality inspections on altered garments to ensure strict adherence to Saks Global luxury quality guidelines
- Assist with garment fittings, sewing, pressing, spotting, and execution of stock repairs as needed
- Prepare outbound wardrobe boxes, create shipping labels, manifest merchandise, and stage gondolas for secure shipment
- Utilize daily alterations reports to verify merchandise completion, audit operational metrics, and plan upcoming workflows
- Monitor alteration tickets, tasks, receipts, waived fees, and marks for accuracy and corporate compliance
- Act as primary liaison between supported stores and the alterations department, responding professionally to associate and leadership inquiries
- Ring alterations transactions accurately through the POS system
- Provide operational supervision and leadership to workroom employees in the absence of the Alterations Manager
- Perform ad hoc projects and support initiatives as needed to advance departmental success
Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant experience in retail operations, administrative coordination, or apparel/alterations environments
- Solid understanding of the fashion industry, including garment tailoring, construction, fabrication, and luxury styling
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact effectively and professionally via phone, email, and in person
- Proficiency with Microsoft/Google office applications and standard office and POS equipment
- Strong organizational and coordination skills with proven ability to manage workflows, scheduling, and documentation in fast-paced settings
Skills
Experience
2+ years of relevant experience in retail operations, administrative coordination, or apparel/alterations environments. Industry knowledge of fashion, garment construction, fabrication, and luxury styling is essential.
Education
Degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Product Development, or a related field is preferred but not required.
