Role & Responsibilities
- Model all Saks Fifth Avenue Customer Service Principles and maintain exceptional client relationships throughout the alteration process
- Perform fittings and make tailoring decisions on high-end luxury merchandise, ensuring precise alterations across a wide range of garments
- Execute alterations utilizing standard and specialty sewing, pressing, spotting equipment, including double-blind, buttonhole, cover-stitch, and leather machines
- Maintain a clean and safe alteration workroom environment, adhering to all company policies and specialized tailor procedures
- Achieve and exceed individual performance and productivity goals while supporting store and department initiatives
- Provide technical expertise in specialty fabrications and styling of luxury merchandise, demonstrating mastery of complex alteration techniques
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of fitting and tailoring experience in high-end luxury merchandise
- Proficiency in fitting and altering a wide range of garments across diverse fabrications
- Technical expertise in specialty skills such as leather work, knits, double-face construction, beading, fine tailoring, and buttonhole finishing
- Demonstrated ability to operate all standard sewing, pressing, and spotting equipment
- Proficiency with specialty machines including double-blind, buttonhole, cover-stitch, and leather equipment
- Comprehensive knowledge of alterations industry practices, luxury merchandise fabrication, and styling principles
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
