Role & Responsibilities
- Perform alterations on constructed garments to meet or exceed Neiman Marcus quality standards, including seam modifications (vented and unvented), shoulder blade adjustments, chest reduction, and shoulder narrowing
- Execute specialized sleeve work including rotation, shortening, and precision hemming on all garment types and fabric weights
- Complete back and collar shortening, shoulder squaring, and coat alterations including re-lining and pocket reconstruction
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot all sewing equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety
- Conduct rigorous self-inspection of completed work to verify adherence to quality specifications before delivery
- Interpret and execute written and oral instructions from Supervisors, Leads, and Managers with accuracy and professionalism
- Manage assigned alteration tasks within established timelines and maintain organized workflow
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment with exposure to diverse garment styles and fabric types
- Proficiency in reading English and comprehending detailed instructions
- Competency in mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across all units of measure
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship

Experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment, with demonstrated exposure to a variety of garment styles and fabric types, is preferred.
