Role & Responsibilities
- Alter constructed garments to Neiman Marcus quality standards, matching or exceeding original construction specifications
- Execute complex seam modifications including venting, shoulder blade adjustments, chest reduction, and shoulder narrowing
- Perform sleeve rotations and shortening work to precise measurements
- Modify garment structure including back shortening, collar adjustments, and shoulder squaring
- Shorten coats, re-line coats, and remake interior and exterior pockets as required
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot all sewing equipment and specialized alteration machinery
- Conduct comprehensive self-inspection of completed alterations to verify compliance with quality standards
- Complete assigned alteration tasks and prioritize work according to Supervisor and Lead direction
- Interpret written and oral instructions from management and translate them into precise technical execution
- Collaborate with fitting specialists to address fit challenges and advise on alterability
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment
- Exposure to diverse garment styles and fabric types
- Proficiency in reading and comprehending English instructions
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) across all units of measure
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards

Experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment is preferred, with exposure to a variety of garment styles and fabric types.
Education
