Role & Responsibilities
- Alter constructed garments to Neiman Marcus quality standards, meeting or exceeding original construction specifications
- Perform complex modifications including seam alterations, shoulder adjustments, chest reductions, sleeve rotation and shortening, and collar modifications
- Operate and maintain all sewing equipment in compliance with safety and maintenance protocols
- Conduct self-inspection of completed alterations to verify adherence to quality standards before delivery
- Interpret and execute written and oral instructions from supervisors and managers
- Assist fitters and sales associates in evaluating garment alterability and fit optimization
- Complete assigned alteration tasks according to workflow priorities set by supervisor or lead
Qualifications
- Experience in tailoring operations or industrial sewing environments
- Exposure to a variety of garment styles and fabric types
- Proficiency in English reading and comprehension of verbal instructions
- Competency in mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) across all units of measure
