Alterations Associate for a confidential luxury fashion house in London — responsible for tailoring, fittings and high‑quality garment alterations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Execute high‑quality alterations and repairs on luxury garments, ensuring fit, finish and structural integrity meet maison standards.
- Conduct precise measurements and private fittings with clients, advising on feasible modifications and expected outcomes.
- Interpret patterns and garment constructions to perform hemming, resizing, re-lining, patching and detailed hand‑stitching.
- Operate and maintain industrial sewing machines, overlockers/sergers and pressing equipment; keep machinery calibrated and clean.
- Manage alteration work orders and timelines, coordinate with boutique sales staff and maintain clear communication with clients regarding delivery.
- Quality‑check finished garments against acceptance criteria and rectify any defects prior to client handover.
- Maintain stock of alteration supplies (threads, interfacings, buttons, zips) and document consumables usage.
Qualifications
- Vocational qualification or formal apprenticeship in tailoring, dressmaking or garment construction preferred.
