Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the fitting and alteration process, embodying all Saks Fifth Avenue customer service principles
- Execute precise alterations on a diverse range of luxury garments, including specialty techniques such as leather work, knit modifications, beading, and fine tailoring
- Conduct professional customer fittings, utilizing expert judgment to determine optimal alteration solutions
- Operate and maintain all standard sewing, pressing, and spotting equipment, as well as specialty machines including double-blind, buttonhole, cover-stitch, and leather equipment
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized alteration workroom in compliance with all company policies and tailoring procedures
- Meet and exceed individual performance and productivity goals while supporting departmental initiatives
- Collaborate with the tailoring team to ensure seamless delivery of high-quality alterations that reflect Saks Fifth Avenue's luxury standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of professional fitting and tailoring experience in high-end merchandise
- Advanced proficiency in fitting and performing alterations on varied garment types
- Technical expertise in specialty tailoring skills such as leather work, knit modification, double-face fabrics, beading, fine tailoring, and buttonhole construction
- Demonstrated proficiency with standard sewing, pressing, and spotting equipment
- Proficiency with specialty alteration machines: double-blind, buttonhole, cover-stitch, and leather equipment
- Deep knowledge of luxury merchandise fabrication and styling within the alterations industry
- High school diploma or equivalent
