Role & Responsibilities
- Perform alterations on a wide range of luxury garments using standard and specialty sewing equipment
- Provide expert fitting consultations and make tailoring decisions during customer fittings
- Maintain a clean and safe alteration workroom environment in compliance with company procedures
- Uphold all Saks Fifth Avenue Customer Service Principles and departmental policies
- Achieve and exceed individual performance and productivity goals
- Build and maintain exceptional customer relationships to ensure repeat business
- Operate specialty machines including double-blind, buttonhole, cover-stitch, and leather equipment
- Support company, store, and department initiatives as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of fitting and tailoring experience in high-end merchandise
- Ability to fit and perform alterations on diverse garment types and fabrications
- Technical expertise in specialty skills such as leather, knits, double-face, beading, fine tailoring, and buttonholes
- Proficiency with standard sewing, pressing, and spotting equipment
- Knowledge of luxury merchandise fabrication and styling standards
