Role & Responsibilities
- Perform precise alterations and fittings on a diverse range of luxury garments, including specialty techniques such as leather work, knit alterations, beading, and fine tailoring
- Operate all standard sewing, pressing, and spotting equipment, as well as specialty machines including double-blind, buttonhole, cover-stitch, and leather equipment
- Deliver exceptional customer service during fittings and alterations consultations, utilizing technical expertise to guide customers on alteration possibilities and garment care
- Maintain meticulous workroom standards and adhere strictly to all alteration procedures and quality control protocols
- Achieve individual performance targets and productivity goals while maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship
- Model Saks Fifth Avenue's customer service principles in all interactions and support departmental initiatives
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with all company policies
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of proven fitting and tailoring experience in high-end or luxury merchandise
- Demonstrated expertise in specialty tailoring skills such as leather, knits, double-faced fabrics, beading, fine tailoring, and buttonhole construction
- Proficiency in operating standard and specialty sewing, pressing, spotting, and specialty machines
- Strong knowledge of luxury fabric types, fabrication methods, and styling appropriate to high-end merchandise
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Minimum 3 years of specialized fitting and tailoring experience in high-end luxury merchandise retail or equivalent tailoring environment. Demonstrated expertise in executing complex alterations on premium fabrics and specialty garments.
