Role & Responsibilities
- Perform weekly preventive maintenance and regular safety inspections on all building equipment and the building envelope, documenting daily/weekly/monthly logs.
- Inspect and maintain vertical transportation, boilers, generators and HVAC systems; troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and plumbing issues.
- Manage and operate the building energy management system, including lighting control via Trane Ensemble Software.
- Order maintenance supplies, assist the Regional Manager with maintenance expense account management and support execution of capital projects.
- Coordinate and oversee contractors, vendors and third‑party service providers during repairs, installations and capital work.
- Provide support for store systems as required (Point of Sale and telephone systems) and for kitchen equipment where applicable.
- Respond to after‑hours emergency calls and perform overtime work as needed to resolve critical building issues.
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) information; ensure safe storage and handling of chemicals.
Qualifications
- Degree from a vocational school or college focused in Mechanical or Electrical disciplines.
- Two to five years of hands‑on experience, or a four‑year apprenticeship, in mechanical or electrical trades and building maintenance.
- Proven working knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC service and general building systems maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, work independently and collaborate effectively with peers and contractors.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, perform repeated bending/reaching and climb ladders.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and familiarity with SDS documentation.

Experience
Two to five years of experience in mechanical/electrical trades, or completion of a four‑year apprenticeship, with demonstrable experience in building maintenance, HVAC and electrical systems within commercial or retail environments.
Education
Vocational school or college degree with a focus in Mechanical or Electrical disciplines.

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 21.53 to USD 26.91 per hour.
