Saks Fifth Avenue — Sarasota, FL: Hiring a Specialized Operations Associate (onsite). Hourly $17.05–$21.32; responsible for general office and jewelry operations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Operate general office functions: open store (safe, controller, registers), distribute reports, perform morning cash entry, prepare bank deposits, reconcile chargebacks, and count registers and petty cash.
- Resolve internal and external customer issues, including researching and processing payments, tracking and handling customer packages, and processing fulfillment orders.
- Execute jewelry department operations in accordance with company standards: receive, verify and book incoming jewelry; complete case counts and reconcile discrepancies; follow shipping and handling guidelines.
- Process jewelry transactions and logistics: re‑ticketing, RTVs, transfers, ASN shipments, price changes, returns to vendor and special orders; maintain repair logs and submit repair invoices.
- Support trunk shows and special events: receive merchandise, assist with show set‑up/take‑down and recap results; prepare Statements of Sale when requested.
- Maintain audit readiness and internal control standards for vaults/safes; communicate with Corporate Merchants, Accounts Payable, Inventory Control and vendors as needed.
- Assist sales managers and floor associates as required and perform ad hoc operational tasks assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post‑secondary coursework in retail, business or allied field preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs, climb ladders and handle racks/carts of merchandise.
- Strong organizational skills with close attention to detail and ability to keep work area audit‑ready.
- Flexible availability to meet business needs and adherence to dependability standards.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Experience
Previous retail operations or jewelry department experience is preferred. Demonstrated experience with cash handling, inventory reconciliation and working in a fast‑paced, client‑facing retail environment is advantageous.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or retail/merchandising coursework preferred.

This position is based in Sarasota, Florida, USA, within easy reach of Tampa.
Compensation
The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 17.05 to USD 21.32 per hour.
