Role & Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of the in-store sales experience for the menswear department, driving revenue, wallet-share and repeat business.
  • Recruit, onboard and retain high-calibre selling talent; build a sustainable talent bench aligned with departmental objectives.
  • Coach, mentor and develop direct reports through ongoing training, performance management and targeted education initiatives (product knowledge, clienteling, selling techniques).
  • Maintain high visibility on the selling floor to model selling behaviours, conduct real-time coaching, and resolve customer escalations.
  • Lead client development programmes and events in partnership with store leadership, merchants and marketing to identify and cultivate top clients.
  • Deploy clienteling tools and social selling to deepen relationships, personalise outreach and convert shopping history into targeted recommendations.
  • Use data-driven analysis of client spend and behaviour to identify opportunities, set priorities and measure progress against departmental KPIs.
  • Manage day-to-day operational responsibilities including scheduling, audit compliance, stockroom controls and execution of promotional plans.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement; champion change initiatives and share best practices across the team.

Qualifications

  • Proven supervisory experience managing a selling and operations workforce with direct reports and a demonstrable record of achieving sales results.
  • Proficiency in clienteling tools, social media platforms for social selling, and Google Workspace (advanced proficiency preferred).
  • Strong leadership competencies: coaching, performance calibration, conflict resolution and talent development.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to structure messages clearly and use appropriate communication channels.
  • High attention to detail, resilience to adapt to changing priorities, and willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays as business requires.
  • Ability to perform light physical tasks (standing, bending, carrying up to 10 pounds).
  • Preferred: prior luxury retail fashion experience and a four-year college degree; continuous learning orientation and familiarity with the Saks Fifth Avenue business.
