Saks Fifth Avenue in Troy, MI seeks a Beauty Advisor to deliver luxury cosmetics consultations, drive sales and manage client relationships.
Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised makeup and skincare consultations and professional application services at the beauty counter.
- Achieve and exceed individual, vendor‑line and event sales goals through consultative selling and proactive client outreach.
- Utilize Saks Fifth Avenue's online clienteling resource tool to record client preferences, manage follow‑ups and drive repeat business.
- Prepare and maintain a luxury selling environment by merchandising the counter to brand standards and ensuring a clean, welcoming presentation.
- Support in‑store and pre‑booked facial consultation events and vendor activations to maximise conversion and basket value.
- Collaborate with the Cosmetics Selling Manager and vendor Account Executives as a brand ambassador and departmental liaison.
- Close retail transactions professionally, handle returns and promote additional products and services to increase average transaction value.
- Participate in in‑house training programmes to maintain product knowledge, technical application skills and vendor certification requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of retail experience; experience in a cosmetics or beauty environment strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
- Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Proficiency with digital clienteling tools and the ability to learn proprietary software quickly.
- Professional competency in make‑up application and treatment consultation.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to work both independently to drive personal business and collaboratively as part of a department team.

Experience
Minimum one year of retail experience, preferably within a cosmetics or beauty environment, with documented success in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; cosmetology, esthetics or related certification preferred.
