Role & Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day workroom operations under the direction of the Alterations Manager, ensuring efficient throughput and adherence to company standards.
- Process and monitor alteration tickets, receipts, waived fees and marks for accuracy and compliance.
- Utilize daily alterations reports and assist with month-end reports to track workflow and completion timelines.
- Perform hands-on duties including assisting with fittings, sewing, pressing, spotting garments and performing stock repairs as required.
- Inspect completed garments to ensure quality standards and correct any discrepancies prior to customer release.
- Assume full responsibility for the workroom in the absence of the Alterations Manager and provide professional front-line customer service.
- Operate point-of-sale or back-office systems to ring alterations and maintain customer records; order supplies and coordinate scheduling as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant alterations or retail workroom experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills for interactions with customers and associates.
- Demonstrated knowledge of garment construction, fabrications and luxury styling.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and maintain a cooperative, problem-solving attitude.
- Comfortable operating standard office equipment and learning store systems.
- Experience ordering supplies and coordinating schedules; ability to assist with month‑end reporting.
- Fashion Design degree preferred but not required.
